I don't know about the rest of you, but my newest addiction is PINTEREST! It's so fun to pin all sorts of cute ideas for your home or a new recipe or two. I must admit though, I find myself pinning a lot and trying hardly any of it! But then again, most of my pinning takes place late at night or while I'm feeding my baby. But it's still fun and so addicting!

Because of Pinterest, I've had customers contact me about projects they want to do! Of course I'm more than happy to help out! Here's just one cute sample of a simple sign I did for a customer all because of Pinterest!

Santa's Cookie Plate

Welcome Blocks

I've had this project for a while and don't know why I've never posted it. Oh well, now is as good of time as ever I guess! I did these a couple years ago at church for a Super Saturday craft project. It was a big hit. The best part of these blocks is that they can be part of your decor all year long and they can be changed to fit the different seasons and holidays.

There are 7 blocks and each side has a different letter. Some letters are repeated but you are able to make a whole list of words that fit the whole year.

I sell these in kits (vinyl only) For $15 for one kit and $12 for 5 or more kits. Each kit includes the vinyl for each block, assembly instructions so you can make sure the right letters get on the right blocks, and a craft stick for each kit to apply your vinyl.

These are fun for girls craft nights, super Saturdays and also perfect for Christmas gifts as well.

When you go to a big event or park do you have a way to keep your stuff different from everyone else? I'm sure we've all done the sharpie trick on more than one occasion but why not make something a little more permanent and use vinyl to mark your stuff?

Now you'll always know which cooler is yours when you are at the park, pool, beach, or where ever. If you're leery about having your last name on something then you can easily do some sort of flower or other fun design as well.

Do you have the same smart phone as everyone else? Why not personalize it with a pretty bunch of flowers...

Or how about your boring ol' water bottle? Everyone else has the same one but now yours is easier to keep track of.

Also, this could be a fun inexpensive teachers gift for the up coming holidays as well. The water bottle is $5.00 at Target and then $3.00 for the vinyl. Now your favorite teacher can have a cute water bottle oh her desk.

I have some friends that have AMAZING eyes for finding things at thrift stores, yard sales, estate sales, whatever and then seeing them and making them into beautiful refurbished pieces for their homes. I however, do not have this talent but I'm always willing to ohhh and ahhh over their treasures and then even more so over their before and after photos.
One of these friends asked me a couple weeks ago if I could make some vinyl numbers for her for her refurbished dresser that she was wanting to put in her living room. I happily obliged and here is the finished product:

LOVE IT! I wouldn't have even thought to put the numbers on the drawers. They look great!

Kitchen Decor-Bon Appétit

Door Vinyl for Boys Room-Sports Theme

We have been busy doing some updating in my boys' room so I've of course done a little vinyl in there. They are big Boise State Fans (their Daddy's Alma Mater) so we are doing a BSU themed room. It is still a work in progress so for now just to get the vibe going I added some fun vinyl on their door.

I did a two step process with the vinyl. The inside is Orange and then the outlines are in Royal Blue. Here's a couple close ups.

They love it and it looks great on their door! Once the rest of the room is done I'll show that off as well. We are attempting our own version of Boise State's famous blue football field!

ON MATERNITY LEAVE

I'm set to have my baby in less than a week (YAY!) so I will be talking a break from working and taking my own form a maternity leave starting today. I do not know when I will be back in business but for now I'm planning on not returning until the middle of May.

Announcements and Such

Just a couple quick announcements of sorts.

First off, I just received a shipment of some new vinyl yesterday. Including two new colors!!! The first one I am so excited to try it is ETCHED GLASS! I have tried this vinyl in a different non commercial grade vinyl and it was so fun. Now I can't wait to see how the "good stuff" works! If you follow me on Facebook, you may remember a few months back when I tried to attempt doing some real etched glass with the cream and all of that. It worked, but this is so much easier and faster too! Plus no messy cream mixtures with who knows what kinds of chemicals in them. Of course, if you are wanting to do etched glass on something like a baking dish, the only way to go is the cream route. But, if you want it to decorate that boring old vase you got flowers in for Valentine's Day (Hint, Hint) This vinyl is the perfect match! You can do flowers, hearts, swirls, what ever you want! The best part is, if you get bored of your design you can peel it right off and do something new! Can't do that with the permanent stuff! I'm going to see what I can come up with next week with this new vinyl and post some samples. Should be fun!!! The other color I added is fun but on a smaller scale, I have now added an option for HOT PINK in the matte finish! I'm going to slowly add more matte finish colors to my list as funds allow so keep posted for those new colors!

And now my other big announcement. Or more of just a heads up really. :) I will be going on maternity leave sometime in the middle of March. I am excited to welcome a new little one into our family so I will be taking a break for a while to bond with our new little guy. If you have been thinking of doing some vinyl, hurry and get it in. When I return I'll be more than happy to do new orders but will not do any during the first couple months after my baby is born. So if you want something done before this summer, now is the time to do it!

Customized Vinyl Tiles

Here's a couple fun tiles I made for a customer for Christmas presents. They were so fun and turned out to be a huge hit for her families for Christmas.

You can do almost any quote you want on a tile. It's an easy gift and is also a simple way to display a quote if you don't want to put it directly on your wall or aren't quite sure what room you might want it in. Here's another one I made for a friend for her Birthday. She wanted this quote for a while but didn't know where to put it so I put it on a tile for her so she could find the perfect spot for it.

I've had a few people ask me about how to display your tile. The easiest is to get an easel for it. They can be found at most big craft stores. They are usually labeled as plate racks or plate holders. But they work for tiles just as well as your pretty plates that you like to display.

Vinyl Tiles

It's been a while since I've updated! I think it's about time for some new stuff don't you?

I've done several tiles in the past and I have no idea why I've never blogged about them before. Well, I guess now is the time! Here are a few samples of tiles that I have done:

This one could also say "Wise Men Still Seek Him. My husband doesn't really care for that quote so we went with "O Holy Night" instead. Both work. This one is also done in the Black Matte vinyl while all of the others are done in the Black Glossy Vinyl. But you could do any color you like.

The price for these is as follows. If you would like to do one or two tiles it is $11.50 for the vinyl. If you would like to do more for Gifts, Super Saturdays, Craft days, etc. If you order 5 or more the price drops down to $8.00 per tile for the vinyl. All of these tiles were bought at just a regular home improvement store. Tiles are always on sale and can usually be bought for less than $1.00 each! It's a nice easy inexpensive gift. Great, simple ideas for Christmas. (HINT, HINT!)

Boy's Room Decor: Vinyl Rocket ships & Space

Here's some pictures from an order I did recently for a "space" themed bedroom for two very cute and fun little boys.

The rocket ships are done in silver while the moon and some of the stars are done in golden yellow. And then of course the quote and the rest of the stars are done in white. So much fun!

Vinyl Quote for Classroom

Now that school is back in session for the most part, what a great way to display your classroom motto on mantra. It makes it a little nicer than using the usually die cuts that are available at all school. :) Perfect touch for a classroom.

I've slacked off the last little bit on my posting but I'm back! I've got a few pictures from some recent clients that I can't wait to share! Also, if you have vinyl done by me and have not sent me a picture of your stuff I would love to have a copy so I can showcase your stuff. Anyway, recently I did a bunch of signs for a client for her house and I think they all turned out great! So here they are!

This first one is in the client's kitchen above her window. She is a really tiny girl so this sign has a bit of humor mixed in with it. :)

This next sign is in her family room. Perfect quote for a family room!

Perfect touch for her little boy's room. This was a two part application. The Moon and stars were one piece of vinyl (dark yellow) and then the quote was placed on top in black vinyl. So cute!

Girls Camp/Youth Camp Craft with Vinyl

Count Your Many Blessings Vinyl Wall Art

I've had a picture of my children hanging in my family room for close to a year now and every time I look at the picture I felt that it needed a little extra something to help it out. I often have a hard time with finding vinyl for my own home just because I'm so picky about what quote or what not I want. A few weeks ago I was looking online for some inspiration for a client and came across this quote. It was one of those head smacking moments. Such a simple phrase that I've heard my entire life! Of course it would fit perfectly with the picture of my three greatest blessings. Cheesy I know, but it was the perfect quote for the picture.

I knew the quote alone would be fine but the scrolls in the corner just add the perfect extra touch.

All of this vinyl is done in brown vinyl. The size is 8" tall and 27" long.

Here's a closer shot of the scrolls. It's actually three coordinating scrolls grouped together to look like one big one.

I love the way it turned out and it makes me smile every time I look at it.

No Soliciting Sign

Probably the most common email inquiry I get is about No Soliciting Signs. I would say I get at least 2-3 a week if not more. Being a Stay At Home Mom I know exactly what it's like to get pestered all the time by the wonderful door to door salesmen. So what better way to rid them, then to have a No Soliciting sign.

My signs are VERY affordable and are so easy to apply. The price generally for my No Soliciting signs is only $2.00, and since they are so small I don't charge shipping because they fit into a normal envelope that only requires normal postage. My most common inquiry about my No Soliciting Signs is about this sign. I've cut this sign I don't know how many times and it is always a favorite. It's a clean font, yet very legible and not boring either.

Recently a client graciously sent me a picture of the same sign in black. The size is roughly 3 inches tall and 5 inches wide.
Such a classic look and gets the point across perfectly.

Kisses for You Glass Block Vinyl Project

I did the vinyl for this project not too long ago for a craft night for a ladies church group. After they applied the vinyl they filled the blocks with Hershey's kisses. How cute!

Names/Girls bedroom Vinyl Decor

My friend recently redid her twin girls' bedroom. She got her inspiration from Pottery Barn and recruited me to help out with some of the vinyl.
Here is the finished product. I did the names for her and she already had the vinyl birds. But I can do similar birds if you are interested. The font was a basic serif font (Georgia). It's done on Matte White Vinyl.

Glass Blocks/Wedding Center Piece Decorations

A couple months back I was able to do some vinyl for my husband's cousin that was getting married. For the table center pieces at the reception they had bought some glass blocks. You can find these at most craft stores with large holes already in place or you can also buy them from your local hardware store and cut the holes yourself. (But that route is slightly more difficult.) Anyway, they took the engagement pictures of the happy couple and put them inside the glass blocks. On the outside they placed vinyl with popular phrases about love on them on one side. On the other side were one to three word phrases in the bottom corner again relating to love.

The blocks turned out very nicely. I used two different fonts to give the phrases some contrast and a more "artsy" look. I used the fonts Trajan and Corinthia. I think those two fonts are a great contrast with on another.

No Soliciting Sign

I took a little hiatus from updating my blog here. Sorry! But now I'm back and promise to update more often.
A few weeks back I did this order and it was fun! It put a new twist to the No Soliciting sign. The client wanted to make sure that the kids knew they were welcome to sell their fundraiser goodies but they didn't want any other solicitors so this is the sign we came up with.
Originally I did it in red and black vinyl but the client decided they wanted white instead. But I was able to get pictures of both signs for them. The signs were exactly the same but with different colors.
The wording reads:
NO SOLICITING
No Handbills or Flyers
Unless under 12 years old and
Selling Cookies, Popcorn or Candy
For Scouts, School or Sports.

I think they should be able to get their point across. :)

They also wanted a couple signs for their sliding doors to remind guest to step down. The signs were done in white but the 2nd one makes it look like it is black.

Hawaiian Welcome Sign

This was fun to do a different Welcome Sign. This was for the winner of my drawing a couple months ago. She wanted to share her Hawaiian heritage with others and what a great way to do so with your front door! She said that it means "enter, welcome". What a great greeting to your home and also what a great conversation starter!
The font is AL Afternoon Delight and it was cut in White Vinyl.

Favorite Things Board

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I hope everyone had a great Holiday season! We had a great time at our house. Laid back and relaxed just the way I like it! My kids are back in school now and I'm ready to get back into the swing of things! Hopefully this year will bring some great changes here at my little place. Keep your fingers crossed that all goes as planned and I have some fun new stuff here in the next couple of months!

Anyway, back to business. Here's just a simple little board I did the vinyl for just before Christmas. It made a great Christmas present and what a fun gift for Grandma to show off her cute grand kids! I've done a couple different styles for this sign. This one was fun because I added some flowers to the sides to make up for the small font. The board is just a 2x4 cut to the size you want with a groove cut into the top for the metal part. What a fun sign!

Vinyl Family Quote

Yet another great quote about family. This is perfect for an entry way, living room, family room or where ever else you would want it. It's also the perfect touch for a photo collage. And doesn't it look great with the silhouettes?

The word family is done in the font Inspiration and burgundy vinyl. The quote is in the font marker fine point in black vinyl.

Well, I have done even more cute stuff for her classroom. This first one is for her Birthday Wall. I love the socks! The quote is done in White Vinyl and the font is Girls Are Weird. And then the socks are done in Orange, Blue, Red, Light Blue, Hot Pink, Yellow, Purple and Apple Green Vinyl.
SO CUTE!

Also, she has a special chair for the Birthday Boy or Girl. Both the VIP and crown are in purple vinyl. The font for VIP is Font Diner Sparkly.

Both are such fun additions to her preschool!

The colors are Chocolate Brown (Home) and Burgundy (is where our story begins). The dimensions for this sign are as follows. Home is 7.5" tall x 21.5" long. Story Begins is 3.75" tall x 31" long. The quote is meant to be placed on top of the word home. Normally I would sell a sign this size for $21.60 but since I am wanting to find a good home for it I'm selling it for $15.00 and I'll even throw in free shipping! :) There is nothing wrong with the sign I just reversed the colors from what the customer ordered.

Girl's Nursery Vinyl Decor

My Husband's cousin gave birth to the cutest little baby girl back in August and this is in her nursery. Usually this quote is "Butterfly Kisses and Ladybug Hugs" but they wanted a dragonfly theme so we switched it up and bit and swapped out Dragonfly for Butterfly. This quote can also say "Sleep tight little one for you are Loved" but was again swapped for "Snug as a bug in a rug." Both ways are really cute! I also have butterflies that match these dragonflies and ladybugs. they are all very cute!!!
This is done in white vinyl (gloss) and the font is called Kayleigh. And then of course it is accented with dragonflies and ladybugs.

Bathroom Vinyl Decor

While working on a bathroom sign for a client I felt the urge to decorate my kids' bathroom with some fun vinyl.
I created these little water splashes and decided that "Splish Splash!" would be the most appropriate saying to match the decor and the fun splashes.
The words are both 6 1/2 inches tall and the first one is 14 1/2 inches long and the 2nd is 16 3/4" inches long. I did the words in Apple Green vinyl and then the splashes were done in light blue. The font is called Curlz. It makes the room so fun now and it looks fun against the ocean shower curtain!

I am so excited to show you these next two projects I just did. They are so fun and cute in their own ways. The first one is one that my own boys were so jealous that it was going to someone else and not going on their own bedroom door. I'll just let the picture do the talking.

How cute is that??? I was so excited to find a Star Wars font. It looks great and you can definitely tell that it gets the point across. So Fun!

Now this next one I just finished putting up in my friend's nursery last night.(hence the not so great pictures because of it being dark out) They are expecting their first baby any day now and this was the finishing touch for their little new little guy's nursery.
They did a horse theme but not necessarily a cowboy themed room. Everything is centered around the wooden horse by the crib that was the new Dad's when he was a child. Anyway, here's the quote:

Can't you just picture a little boy riding a rocking horse and having the time of his life? The quote comes from this Song. I had never heard it before but now that I've read all the words I think it is so cute!

The sign was done in Brown vinyl and the font is called Hoedown. I tweaked it some from the original font. The capital letters aren't normally as tall and skinny. But I think this way looks great!

Now the nursery is all ready so now that baby needs to hurry up and get here! :)

Welcome Signs

Here are a couple more Welcome Signs to add to my ever growing gallery! These have really taken off and I love seeing them on people's doors.
This first one is exactly like this one I did a couple months back; but this time it was done in Black Vinyl to go against a white door. You can see how they are the same, yet at the same time also different. I love seeing everyone's wreaths as well. All so pretty!

And then here is another one I did recently for my neighbor. This is a great one because it's done in a block font rather than a script font. This font is called Will & Grace. And yes, if you remember, it is the same font that was used for the title of the TV Show Will & Grace. So Fun!

Here's a close up of it as well. I love how the vowels are done in lowercase and italicized. Gives a great contrast don't you think?

Well, I was hoping to get this up earlier this morning but instead I spent all morning in the Dentist's office getting a cavity filled! So here I am now back with a numb left side of my face. Hopefully it will wear off soon because it's getting pretty annoying! :)

Anyway, I am so excited about the response I got for my first official give away since creating my little ol' blog. I thought I would get maybe 20 comments total and that was with everyone posting more than one comment! But no! I had a wonderful 82 comments! Every single one of you that left a comment are so AWESOME!!! Thank you so much for the kind words and such they have really touched me! It has been fun doing vinyl and I'm excited to see so many of you that have showed an interest in my blog. I did read every single comment and have gone through and counted up all of the entries. Hello Everyone! This is my first official giveaway since I started doing my vinyl business and I'm so excited!
I've always been someone who loves quotes. It's always fun to go into some one's home and see if they have any sort of quotes whether it be vinyl or not, it helps in some ways to give the person or family some sort of definition as to who they are or what they believe. When I was in High School the big thing to do was to add a quote under your Senior picture in the yearbook. Were the people trying to go for a serious approach? Or were they trying to take the more humorous route? Other times it was more of an inside joke that you may or may not have gotten. I liked to take the more humorous route myself. My senior quote read:
"Remember, always follow your dreams; Unless it's the one when you show up to school naked."
You should have seen the look of horror my mother had on her face after reading that! But it was fun and it still makes me laugh to this day when I think of that quote. Would I put it in my house? No, but it's a fun glimpse of what I was like back then. Oh how I loved Deep Thoughts By Jack Handey. :)
Another quote that has stuck with me from back when I was a teenage is more on the serious side and a great motto for how we should live our lives. I got this from one of my Church Teachers when I was a youth it reads:
"Happiness is not a Destination we arrive at; but a manner of Traveling."
That is a quote I would happily display in my home.

More Preschool Decorations-Crayons

I have done more vinyl for this cute preschool. I made some crayons that are the children's name tag above where they are to hang their bags & coats. They turned out so cute! I'm sure these children will be so excited to see so many fun bright colors at their new school.

These crayons were cut in yellow, blue, green, light blue, hot pink, red, & purple vinyl. The font for their names is just your basic Arial font. It's an easy font for the children to learn how to recognize their name in print.

This is the cutest room ever! I just did these polka dots for a preschool. They are so fun and bright. Perfect for young ones learning about their ABC's and 123's. The colors are Red, Yellow, Blue, and Apple Green. The perfect primary color combinations. The sizes of the dots are 6", 4" & 2". They are the perfect touch for this new little school or would be really cute in a baby boy's nursery!

I did three colors along with the black for the Flower quote. They are Hot Pink, Purple and Apple Green. The purple doesn't show up real well in the picture, but looks really cute in real life. The font is Ma Sexy and then some flower images to go along with the quote.

The laundry sign is done in black vinyl and the font is Black Jack.

No Soliciting & Welcome Signs

Here is another Welcome sign I did for a customer and she also wanted a No Soliciting sign to coordinate with it. Both are done in the font Lavishly Yours. The Welcome Sign is in white and the No Soliciting sign is in black.

This is my own front door. I decided to decorate it as well. It's so bright and cheery! This is a new font I found called Corinthia. It's a very nice and simple yet elegant font. One of my new favorites!

These are on my children's doors. The whole image for the princess sign is from the dingbat font and is done in the pink vinyl.

No Soliciting Sign and Custom Order

This No Soliciting sign was made for a customer recently. Doesn't it fit perfectly in between the lock and door knob? The sign was made with the burgundy vinyl and used the font was AL Afternoon Delight.

I also did the vinyl for this project for the same customer. She proved that it is easy to copy ideas from popular decorating catalogs/websites for well over half the price. The Detergent sign was done in Black vinyl and then the font is Frutiger.

Candy Jar

I made a couple of these for my Children's' Teachers for Christmas gift. They are so cute and are just the right size to hold one package of Hershey's Kisses. The vinyl is black and the font is Curly Coryphaeus. They are approximately 4 inches square and have a metal lid that seals on top. More Personalized Name Plaques

Tis the season for Weddings! I have been doing a couple orders lately for some recent weddings and such so I had to show the newest installment of these great signs.
The first two were for the same customer. The signs are on a 1x12 inch board that is 2 1/2 feet (30 inches) long. They are rather large, but the size actually looked really good once I was finished with them. The font is called Adorable, the vinyl in brown. The board itself is painted a light cream/antique white and then I used brown paint to give it a weathered look.

Below is a sign I made for a friend who recently got married also. It is a very classy spin on the other personalized signs I have been making lately. The Board is a 1x8 inch board that is 1 1/2 feet (18 inches) wide. It is painted black and the edges are sanded. The font for the last name is done in the Bookman Old Style font (underlined) and then the established is done in the Miss Robertson font. The vinyl is the cream/Almond color.

New Fonts

I have found some new fonts to add to my collection. There are some really fancy script fonts: GE Twill Script, Mahogany Script & Miss Robertson. Other script fonts that are more fun and not as fancy: Black Jack, Kayleigh, Digs My Hart, & Twinkle Star. I have also found more block fonts like Apple Scruffs, Occidental, Lemon Chicken, Roberta & Mr Larry Tate. And then finally a fun font, Font Diner Sparkly. These have already been fun to use and I can't wait to use them some more along with my other fonts that I have already listed.

My Pricing is as follows:

Vinyl is $0.08 per square inch, with a $2.00 per cut minimum.

For finished boards, in addition to Vinyl costs, is this: (all boards are 1" thick boards unless otherwise requested)

4" tall board is $3.00 per foot*
6" tall board is $5.00 per foot*
8" tall board is $7.00 per foot*

The board will be painted in your choice of color and your vinyl lettering will be applied.

The edges are always sanded on the boards so if you would not like them sanded please let me know.

How to Apply Your Vinyl

How to Apply your Vinyl
There are three parts to your vinyl:

Top Layer = Transfer Tape This is the slightly transparent masking tape like layer that is placed over the top of the vinyl.
Middle Layer = Vinyl Lettering. This is the actual lettering that will remain on the wall or board when installation is complete.
Bottom Layer = Backing Paper. This is the thick paper that the vinyl is positioned on

Step 1:

Make sure your surface is clean. If you are putting your Vinyl on a painted board, make sure the paint is completely dried.
Make sure your have a straight line marked for your project. I like to use a laser level, so then you don’t have marks on your walls or board. But a light line from a pencil or chalk line will also work.

Step 2:

Unroll your Vinyl. DO NOT SEPARATE THE LAYERS YET (It may need to lay flat in a warm area until it no longer curls.)
Lay your vinyl on a table or other smooth surface (so that you can read it).
Rub over the entire surface of your vinyl with a flat hard object. I like use a scraper from Pampered Chef used to clean their stone ware. A credit card or other card that is similar will also work well. This will ensure that the vinyl adheres to the transfer tape.

Step 3:

Place your Vinyl where you want it on your surface. You may want to mark where the center of your vinyl is to make it easier to place.
If placing your vinyl on a wall secure the top of the vinyl with painters tape so it doesn’t move.
Peel the backing paper off your vinyl. Do this slowly so you can make sure your vinyl stays attached to the transfer tape and not the backing paper.
Lay the Vinyl back on the surface and smooth it out.
Use the Credit card or other tool to rub the letters onto your surface. Make sure to rub the edges and smaller pieces to ensure they are adhered to the wall.
Slowly remove the transfer take making sure the vinyl stays attached to your surface.
Erase any marks you may have made to get a straight line for your project.
