A collection of some of my work

HELLO EVERYONE!

I can't believe it has been well over a year since I have updated this blog! First off, a couple of things to get out of the way...

1. Yes, I am still in business!

2. Yes, I would love to take any and all new orders! My email is still the same wordsandwisdomvinyl@gmail.com. If you would like to place an order, email me and we will work out the details.

3. If you have not already done so, please like my Facebook Page here.

4. If you have ordered from me in the past and have not sent me a picture of your sign, I would love to have a copy of it for my portfolio. Please email it to me. Thanks!

Enough with the talking, here are just a few of the things I have done over the past year.

Birthday Bucket

Wow! Was it really NOVEMBER when I last updated my blog? Guess I need to get back into things huh? Anyway, yes, I'm still in business, I've just gotten busy with life in general and let the little things like this blog take a back seat. I'm still around and still taking vinyl orders so if you have something in mind, let's get started!

Anyway, back to the topic at hand. Today is my oldest child's 11th Birthday! Can't believe it's been 11 years since he was born. He's a great kid and an awesome older brother to his younger siblings. This year we started a new tradition in our family for Birthdays. I saw this idea when I was reading a friend's personal blog and decided that it needed to be part of our family traditions as well. The tradition is called "The Birthday Bucket". My kids still get one bigger present (for my son it was a new bike) but the bucket is filled with smaller things that are some favorites of the birthday child.  Relatively inexpensive and just some fun items that are just for them.

Here is the bucket my son got today. In it was a new t-shirt, a game, a Lego Mini Figure (we love these in our house!) some glow sticks, silly string, a couple note books for him to draw all of his inventions in, a ruler to help with the drawings, and then some of his favorite candies. He was quite happy with his loot.

In March was my baby's 1st Birthday so that is when we started this new tradition. Here's his bucket of goodies:

His bucket included a new outfit, some fun bath toys, new books, a Matchbox car, animal crackers, and a big spikey ball.

This tradition is already becoming a huge hit and my other 2 kids are already anticipating what will be in their birthday buckets!

If you want to make one of your own, the bucket I got was from the Dollar Spot at Target and then of course the vinyl is from me. If you are interested, The vinyl (birthday bucket words and polka dots in 3 colors and sizes-you can choose your colors) can be purchased for $5.00 for the kit. Contact me and let's get started!

Santa's Cookie Plate

Need a cute simple gift for your Neighbors, teachers, co-workers, or anyone for the Holidays? How about a cute plate? Just buy a simple white plate (this one is from Target) and then you can add the vinyl ($5.00) to the plate. Simple and easy project and you have a cute present to mark off your Christmas list! And best of all it can be done for under $10.00! Can also be done in other colors or two toned (words one color Santa another color)

Welcome Blocks

I've had this project for a while and don't know why I've never posted it. Oh well, now is as good of time as ever I guess! I did these a couple years ago at church for a Super Saturday craft project. It was a big hit. The best part of these blocks is that they can be part of your decor all year long and they can be changed to fit the different seasons and holidays.

There are 7 blocks and each side has a different letter. Some letters are repeated but you are able to make a whole list of words that fit the whole year.

Here's a list of the some of the words it can make:
Welcome
Harvest
Faith
Family
Friends
Blessed
Snow
Home
Monster
Dream
Easter
Spooky
Winter

I sell these in kits (vinyl only) For $15 for one kit and $12 for 5 or more kits. Each kit includes the vinyl for each block, assembly instructions so you can make sure the right letters get on the right blocks, and a craft stick for each kit to apply your vinyl.

These are fun for girls craft nights, super Saturdays and also perfect for Christmas gifts as well.

Here's some more pictures of the different words:

And look, they can even spell a select few names. :) You may even be able to spell your last name too!

Isn't this so cute! This little sign is so versatile! It could go almost anywhere in your home! A great accent to a kitchen. Maybe part of a photo collage of your favorite sun shines. Or how cute would this be in a nursery? You could give it as a gift to your child's favorite teacher. The Grandparents, would love it or even a favorite Aunt or Uncle even! The possibilities are endless!

You could make 1 or even 101. How fun would it be to do a craft night with your girlfriends and make this. It's also a great idea for a Super Saturday!

Customized Vinyl Tiles

Here's a couple fun tiles I made for a customer for Christmas presents. They were so fun and turned out to be a huge hit for her families for Christmas.

You can do almost any quote you want on a tile. It's an easy gift and is also a simple way to display a quote if you don't want to put it directly on your wall or aren't quite sure what room you might want it in. Here's another one I made for a friend for her Birthday. She wanted this quote for a while but didn't know where to put it so I put it on a tile for her so she could find the perfect spot for it.

I've had a few people ask me about how to display your tile. The easiest is to get an easel for it. They can be found at most big craft stores. They are usually labeled as plate racks or plate holders. But they work for tiles just as well as your pretty plates that you like to display.

Vinyl Tiles

It's been a while since I've updated! I think it's about time for some new stuff don't you?

I've done several tiles in the past and I have no idea why I've never blogged about them before. Well, I guess now is the time! Here are a few samples of tiles that I have done:

This one could also say "Wise Men Still Seek Him. My husband doesn't really care for that quote so we went with "O Holy Night" instead. Both work. This one is also done in the Black Matte vinyl while all of the others are done in the Black Glossy Vinyl. But you could do any color you like.

The price for these is as follows. If you would like to do one or two tiles it is $11.50 for the vinyl. If you would like to do more for Gifts, Super Saturdays, Craft days, etc. If you order 5 or more the price drops down to $8.00 per tile for the vinyl. All of these tiles were bought at just a regular home improvement store. Tiles are always on sale and can usually be bought for less than $1.00 each! It's a nice easy inexpensive gift. Great, simple ideas for Christmas. (HINT, HINT!)

Kisses for You Glass Block Vinyl Project

I did the vinyl for this project not too long ago for a craft night for a ladies church group. After they applied the vinyl they filled the blocks with Hershey's kisses. How cute!

Supplies:
7 1/2 inch square glass block
black vinyl (matte)
ribbon
Hershey's Kisses

If you would like to do this for your family, neighbors, church group, end of year teacher's gifts (HINT, HINT), craft night with friends, or whatever. Send me an email and they can be done and in the mail to you the very next day. I also have it set up to say "Kisses from Grandma" as well.

Favorite Things Board

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I hope everyone had a great Holiday season! We had a great time at our house. Laid back and relaxed just the way I like it! My kids are back in school now and I'm ready to get back into the swing of things! Hopefully this year will bring some great changes here at my little place. Keep your fingers crossed that all goes as planned and I have some fun new stuff here in the next couple of months!

Anyway, back to business. Here's just a simple little board I did the vinyl for just before Christmas. It made a great Christmas present and what a fun gift for Grandma to show off her cute grand kids! I've done a couple different styles for this sign. This one was fun because I added some flowers to the sides to make up for the small font. The board is just a 2x4 cut to the size you want with a groove cut into the top for the metal part. What a fun sign!

I just cut this vinyl for a custom order this week. The font is Inspiration and it's in cream vinyl. It's just the right size for a little knick knack shelf.

Candy Jar

I made a couple of these for my Children's' Teachers for Christmas gift. They are so cute and are just the right size to hold one package of Hershey's Kisses. The vinyl is black and the font is Curly Coryphaeus. They are approximately 4 inches square and have a metal lid that seals on top. If you are interested I can make these and sell them to you for $10.00.
